The Benefits of Big Foot Root Boost on Lawns and Turf

The natural way to get rid of brown spots on your lawn

Nitrogen is essential for your lawn and turf to keep it green and healthy. A blade of grass is essentially the “leaf” of the plant – and for it to grow tall it needs a strong root system to deliver water and nutrients upwards.

Not all soil has access to nitrogen as it can be depleted naturally over grow cycles, especially on lawns. Azospirillum – a natural and beneficial microbe – can be added to your soil to fix it for nitrogen absorption, which a plant’s root will tap into to give it a boost in its early growth cycle.

We did a test – we added a teaspoon of Big Foot Root Boost to coat the grass seeds on the pot on the right, and left the pot on the left untreated.

Methodology:

Both pots had the same amount of soil, seed, and water added – with the only difference being a teaspoon of Big Foot Root Boost being added to the grass seeds on the right pot.

The seeds were covered with soil and watered:

Over the next few weeks – both pots were watered equally and had the same access to light and air.

You can start to see the results quickly – grass blades popped earlier and fuller on the Root Boost pot.

At the end of the trial – the grass seeds treated with the Big Foot Root Boost had grown taller and thicker. Big Foot Root Boost allowed the grass seed to establish faster and gave the grass a head start – not to mention the long term benefits.

Longer-term grass gains

Of course this is just the beginning of the grow cycle. Soil treated with Big Foot Root Boost now contains Azospirillum microbes which naturally allow soil to store and convert nitrogen for your plants – an essential element for all plants!

Farmers used to use “cover crops” to reestablish their fields when nutrients were depleted. When you grass naturally uses up the nitrogen in your soil, your lawn can start to look lifeless and brown. The azospirillum added to the soil in Big Foot Root Boost treated lawns returns microbes and other beneficials to your soil – and the great news is you can water it in to maintain the balance and keep your turf green, thick and resilient.

An easy solution for established lawns

Big Foot Root Boost works great applied directly to seeds – but it can also be watered into your existing lawn and turf.

Renew the soil your lawn is growing in by adding in azospirillum. If you have brown spots in your lawn or an area that just doesn’t grow like the rest of your lawn, watering in Big Foot Root Boost is the first step in giving your grass the nitrogen it needs.
